The Reporter, Ethiopia’s leading English weekly newspaper, published by Our Company Media and Communications Center, is seeking talented juniorreporters to join our dynamic editorial team. With more than a 30-year legacy of delivering in-depth, context-rich journalism, The Reporter is committed to providing accurate and insightful news to its readers.As a Junior Reporter, you will be tasked with contributing to the creation of compelling content for both print and digital platforms, working alongside a team dedicated to journalistic excellence.

Core Reporting Duties

• In-depth Investigative Reporting: Conducting complex investigations, uncovering hidden stories, and presenting findings in a compelling manner.
• Complex Story Development: Tackling intricate and multifaceted issues, requiring extensive research and analysis.
• Breaking News Coverage: Leading the newsroom in covering major events, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Feature Writing: Producing high-quality long-form pieces that delve into human interest stories or in-depth analyses.

Additional Responsibilities

• Digital Proficiency: Understanding digital platforms and creating content optimized for online audiences.

Essential Qualifications:

• English Language Proficiency:Having excellent written and verbal communication skills is a must.
• Journalistic Skills: Proven ability to identify and develop compelling stories.
• Time Management: Exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Team Collaboration: Effective interpersonal skills to work closely with editorial teams.

Qualifications:

• A minimum of two years of journalism experience.
• A bachelor’s degree and above in Political Science and International Relations, Economics, Journalism, Language and Literature, and related fields of study
