Job Summery

Duties and Responsibilities of the Post Holder: –

  • Coordinates and controls the execution of the buildings constructed in Addis Abeba and different regional officesoutside Addis Ababa
  • Coordinates works with building contractor representatives, architects, engineers, inspectors, site subcontractors etc,
  • Writes and presents reports, proposals, applications and contracts while adapting plans in accordance with the available circumstances so as to resolve any problems that may arise during construction.
  • Estimate a timescale for a project and monitor the progress to ensure that the outlined deadlines are met.
  • Work closely with other heads in the project, that is surveyors, engineers, site worker and other professionals as well as engineers by ensuring that a project runs on schedule and material supplies are sufficient.
  • Determine and come up with the best, economically viable construction and engineering methods for the project
  • Involve throughout the development and implementation stages of the Project
  • Review, analyze and recommend variation works needed and essential for betterment of the buildings for approval
  • Supervise the actual construction work is done in accordance with the specifications standard set and principles,
  • Follow and ensure that the consultant discharge its duties and responsibility properly as per contractual agreement made between the Agency and the company,
  • Physically inspect on the construction site to ensure everything goes as per the plan and meet the client’s specifications.
  • Makes estimation for time scales and costs to be incurred through assessment.
  • Organize and/or ensure the timely transportation of materials to be used in the entire construction project.
  • Responsible to ensure technical procedures are carried out safely and completely,
  • Coordinate the works of subcontractors if any or various teams in the construction sites.
  • Identify and resolve issues in the construction site.
  • Involve in planning, coordinating, controlling as well as communication to the personnel involved in the project.
  • Ensure that various project elements are effectively coordinated.
  • Identify needed resources and maintain budget control,
  • Ensure effective internal and external communications,
  • Identify, analyze and take/recommend timely action to mitigate potential risks
  • Ensure proper documentation processes which include engineering drawings, confidentiality agreements, material specifications, mixing, inspection instruction etc are maintained.
  • Participate in the construction related bidding process (bid document preparation and evaluation)
  • Verify contractor’s progress payment schedule (according to project milestones or specified dates) and review progress payments to be paid to contractors for the construction works in progress or completed
  • Ensure that all materials; equipment and quality meet the expectations of the owner that are included within the contract,
  • Perform activities mentioned on the job description and contract agreement and such other related duties assigned to him/her.

Job Requirement

  • Professional license level: PEV
  • Education: MSc or BSc Degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering or Building Construction Engineering
  • Work Experience: 8 years for MSc or 10 years for BSc in Building Construction Project Management

Salary and benefits

  • Salary: 280000.00
  • **Transport:**a car with 200 litter fuel or birr 6,600.00
